IKEA Canada opens customer distribution center in Richmond
The brand new 330,000 sf distribution center in East Richmond will create over 100 new local jobs and will serve the company’s Western Canada operations including four retail outlets and e-commerce platform. Founded in 1943, IKEA opened its first North American retail store right here in Richmond more than 40 years ago.

Premium Brands purchases majority stake in Yorkshire Valley Farms
Premium Brands has continued its North American expansion efforts by acquiring a 62.6% stake in Ontario-based organic chicken processor Yorkshire Valley Farms for an undisclosed fee. The company, headquartered in Richmond, owns multiple brands including Freybe, Grimm’s, Island City Baking and McSweeney’s.
