RED_ManufacturingRichmond manufacturing companies represent a wide range of products and capabilities, and produce goods for both domestic and international markets.
The sector is made up of traditional industries like wood and paper product manufacturing, as well as the development and production of highly advanced applications such as clean energy systems, telecommunications equipment, green building materials and precision industrial instruments.

Many food processing companies, and a number of complementary consumer product packaging makers, have also chosen Richmond as their location.

The global access provided by multi-modal transportation linkages in Richmond helps manufacturing companies easily import production inputs, as well as distribute finished goods to key markets. The Port of Vancouver provides quicker access to Asian markets than US ports, and YVR provides several international flights daily.

Government programs and funding to support research and innovation, such as the Tax Credit for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) and the National Research Council (NRC) Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) help Richmond manufacturing businesses maintain their competitive edge.
